Team Building Done Right: Our Day at Outdoor Elements

Team building with Team Academy

When it comes to team building, it’s easy to assume you know what to expect… a few activities, some light competition, and back to work as usual.

But last Friday (20th March 2026), the team experienced something completely different.

We headed over to Outdoor Elements in Burnley for a team-building session led by Rachel Haslam from Team Academy and from the moment we arrived, we knew this wasn’t going to be your typical day.

7 Challenges. 1 Hour. One Very Competitive Team.

The session kicked off with a clear objective: 7 challenges to complete in just ONE hour.

Simple, right?

Well… not quite.

Each challenge required a mix of problem-solving, communication, and teamwork. And with the clock ticking, the pressure was on.

Now, if you know anything about us, you’ll know we’re a competitive bunch.

So, of course, we weren’t just there to take part, we were there to win.

Through collaboration, quick thinking, we worked our way through all seven challenges and, safe to say, we absolutely smashed it.

More Than Just Team Building

What really set this experience apart wasn’t just the challenges, it was how the entire session was delivered.

Rachel brought an incredible level of energy, structure, and personality that transformed the day into something far more meaningful than a standard team-building exercise.

Every activity had purpose.
Every moment encouraged connection.
And every member of the team had a role to play.

It wasn’t just about completing tasks, it was about how we worked together to achieve them.

The Power of Shared Experiences

There’s something powerful about stepping away from the day-to-day and tackling challenges as a team in a completely different environment.

The laughter, the problem-solving, the shared wins… all contribute to stronger relationships and better communication back in the workplace and that’s exactly what this day delivered.

Why It Matters

At Fresh, we talk a lot about culture, collaboration, and creating environments where people can thrive.

Days like this bring those values to life.

They remind us that great teams aren’t just built through work – they’re built through shared experiences, trust, and genuinely enjoying time together.

Would We Recommend It?

Without hesitation – absolutely.

If you’re looking for a team-building experience that goes beyond the basics, challenges your team, and leaves a lasting impact, this is it.

Rachel Haslam delivered something truly memorable, and it’s an experience we’d recommend to any business wanting to bring their team closer together.

Trust us… you won’t regret it.
